The Hamburg Open Water Arena lies right in the middle of downtown Hamburg on and in the Alster lake, which is “the” public recreation area in the heart of the city. This unique location will form the centre point of the 15th FINA World Championships 2013, with the Aquatics Festival as well as the grand Market Street situated here. Every year the Dextro Energy Triathlon Hamburg gives almost 10,000 triathletes the chance to be convinced of the superb water quality which the Alster offers for these swimmers. Jungfernstieg, Germany’s favourite and renowned boulevard, will serve as the start, whereas the little Alster lake with its natural stands will serve as the finish area for the 2,500-m course.
