The FINA World Championships represent the fifth biggest sport event in the world and is currently held every two years. It features events in all five aquatic disciplines: swimming, synchronized swimming, diving, water polo and open water. The previous FINA World Championships 2007 were held in Melbourne, Australia. This year the Championships are held in Rome, Italy, in July 2009.
